How to add the pixel with Google Tag Manager
Last reviewed October 22, 2026
If your website uses Google Tag Manager, you can add the DataMoon pixel there instead of editing your site's code.
Before you begin
- Copy your pixel script from DataMoon. (See how to generate your script)
- You need publish access to your Google Tag Manager container.
Steps
1. Create a trigger
- In Google Tag Manager, click Triggers in the left sidebar.
- Click New.
- Name it, for example "Window Loaded Trigger."
- Click Trigger Configuration and select Window Loaded.
- Choose All Windows.
- Click Save.
2. Create a tag
- Click Tags in the left sidebar.
- Click New.
- Name it, for example "DataMoon Pixel."
- Click Tag Configuration and choose Custom HTML.
- Paste your DataMoon pixel script into the HTML field.
- Under Triggering, select the Window Loaded trigger you created.
- Click Save.
3. Publish
- Click Submit in the top-right corner.
- Add a version name and description.
- Click Publish.
Important notes
- Changes don't go live until you publish the container.
- After publishing, visit your site and check your DataMoon dashboard for visitors.
