My audience has too few or 0 results
Last reviewed October 22, 2026
The most common cause is using the Intent B2B or Intent B2C tab when you want a full list. Those tabs show only people with recent buying signals, so they're small by design.
Quick check
Are you building in an Intent tab? If you want every company or person that matches your filters, use Advanced Search instead.
Causes and fixes
You're using an Intent tab
How to tell: you're in Intent B2B or Intent B2C and results look small. Fix: rebuild the same filters in Advanced Search.
More than 5 NAICS codes
How to tell: you entered 6 or more NAICS codes. They all appear selected, but the audience returns 0. Fix: use 5 or fewer NAICS codes per filter. Shorter codes match more companies.
Intent score is set too high
How to tell: you filtered to High intent only. Fix: include Medium and Low. High intent is the smallest group by design. See What do the intent ratings mean?
Filters are stacked too tightly
How to tell: each filter returns results alone, but together they return few. Fix:
- Remove all filters except the most important one.
- Add the others back one at a time and watch the count.
- Change exact matches to contains where possible.
Required fields are narrowing the list
How to tell: Business email required or LinkedIn required is on. Fix: turn these off and compare the count.
Location is too narrow
How to tell: you filtered by a single zip code. Fix: widen to a metro area or state.
You don't know the right industry code
Fix: in Advanced Search, look up a well-known company in that industry and use its listed industry, SIC, or NAICS value.
Other potential errors
- Uploading cities under the zip code field
- Misspelling a title, company, or input filter
