What is identity resolution?
Last reviewed October 22, 2026
Identity resolution connects anonymous website visitors to real consumer or business profiles, so you can follow up with people who never filled out a form.
How it works
When someone visits a site with the DataMoon pixel installed, DataMoon uses multiple data signals to associate that visit with a known profile in our identity graph. Matched visitors appear in your dashboard with the contact and firmographic details available for them.
What it's good for
- Retargeting high-value visitors with ads
- Personalizing outreach to people who already showed interest
- Recovering conversions from visitors who left without contacting you
Limits
- Not every visitor can be identified. Typical match rates are 40–70%, depending on traffic source and cookie permissions.
- Matches are based on data compiled in our identity graph, not on information the visitor typed into your site.
